SOUS CHEF

Manages food preparation to provide the restaurant with a wide variety of foods to meet the needs of various food outlets and banquets. Reports to the Executive Sous Chef/Executive Chef.

• Supervises the training and cross-training of assigned kitchen personnel for various phases of food preparation.
• Liaises with other departments, ensuring communication and resolution of problems.
• Sets short term goals for the preparation and presentation of food
• Supervises, expedites and participates in assigned food preparation, in accordance with standards of quality, quantity, taste and presentation. Checks food for taste, temperature and visual appeal.
• Ensures the satisfaction of guests
• Daily administration duties as required by Executive Chef
• Ensures HCCAP Program is followed at all times and all HACCP logs are completed daily. Ensures cost control procedures are followed.
• Writes menus and recommendations to the Executive Chef for future months, holidays, special events and promotions.

• Looking for a seasoned, innovate chef with experience Managing staff in a restaurant
• Strong communication skills. Effective communication with Executive Chef, other Sous Chefs, managers, lead cooks and hourly employees.
• Culinary Degree/ 5 years relevant experience, preferably 2 completed in high volume food service operation and as sous chef
• Safety and WHMIS training
